Technical Specialist - Software Development and Tools

The department Electrical System Integration & Electrical Development Process is responsible for integration and testing of the complete electrical system and for management of the complete electrical development process. Today the department consists of four groups. The group Electrical Development Process are responsible for all needed PMTI to support developers how is working with Functions, Systems, Software, Hardware and Test.
Software is already a large part of our cars today and it continuous to grow - both from a volume and complexity perspective. We are now looking for a Technical Specialist so that we can keep up with these challenges Volvo Car Group need to continuously define more efficient way of working with software development both towards external software suppliers developing software but especially for the growing Volvo Car Group in-house software development factory. There is a constant need to improve software development processes and related tool chains to make development more and more automated and faster to meet needs for reduced lead time and high quality products.
Main responsibilities
* Define and update software development vision, mission strategies and cross R&D
* Established and maintain Volvo Car Group research network together with academia, e.g. SW Centre
* Establish software development processes, methods & tools including engineering support, coordination, and quality review of such activities
* Drive and participate annual studies and OD projects
* Support concept studies
* Recognized as a go-to person within TS area
* Secure succession by proactively provide mentoring and coaching
* Deliver education material and carry through education within TS area
* Establish/maintain network(s) within the TS area to increase knowledge about Software development
* Support in contact with Software suppliers, purchasing, legal department
* Deliver applications for research and innovation projects which are co-financed by the authorities
* Establish and maintain research network towards companies, academia, e.g. Software Center,Chalmers, MAH
* Establish and maintain relations with universities through supervision of doctorate and thesis works
* Proactively participate in standardization work
* Proactively participate in seminars, conferences and conventions
* On request support in contacts with authorities, e.g. in legal matters
Required qualifications
* Master degree or equivalent within relevant field, Software, Electrical/Electronics
* 10 years of experience in Software Development, within embedded systems, Software requirements, Software Architecture/design, Software Implementation, Software Integration and Test
* Experience of AutoSAR, Real time Operating system
* Demonstrated initiative and capability to provide technical leadership to peers and management
* Experience of leading and development of teams
* Experience of SW tool chains, e.g. TCr, Elektra, Mathworks products, SVN, Jira, Autosar Tier2 tools
* Experience of project management, including agile methods (e.g. Scrum), configuration management, test management, and QA
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
