The IBM Sterling Order Management Lead Designer / Architect is responsible for translating the client's business requirements into specific order management system, application or process designs. This includes working with client personnel to identify functional and technical requirements, and subsequently working with and leading others in the identification, justification and design of the client's solution and Order Management Software (OMS) architecture. The Lead Designer will ensure the designed solution is aligned with performance and non-functional requirements as well.
The Architect / Design Lead will also lead the design and development of reusable artifacts, across the life-cycle phases of an OMS implementation.Successful candidates will have demonstrated past experience in analyzing complex technical situations, anticipating potential problems and future trends, and assessing opportunities and risks while developing and implementing plans and creating solution deliverables for client contracts. As a leader of the team, the Sterling Order Management Design Lead guides other professionals and assumes overall technical responsibility for the successful design, solution construction, implementation and system integration of Sterling Commerce Distributed Order-Management projects. Keys to success include: providing functional choices to meet business needs, leading successful system implementations and displaying strong technical and communications skills.

Job Responsibilities:
- Create the theoretical and/or detailed technical design to meet business requirements by leveraging the capabilities available in IBM Sterling Selling and Fulfillment Suite
- Provide business and technical expertise to evaluate and choose between solution alternatives; assist with alancing costs with capabilities and priorities.
- Design, develop, and implement highest-quality software application solutions using Sterling OMS modules.
- Help develop and propose Sterling OMS-centric processes, policies, and standards.
- Participate in projects and provide cross-functional IT application support coordination on issues & design planning.
- Participate in technical architecture design. Make recommendations that improve efficiency, minimize cost and support future business growth plans.
- Help analyze, troubleshoot, and tune Sterling Commerce. Work closely with Infrastructure team to solve performance and issues and provide permanent solutions.
- Identify where customization is required, and identify and use appropriate integration techniques.

Education and Experience:
- 5+ years of overall Software Development experience with hands-on Sterling development experience in one or more Sterling Modules
- Strong foundation in Java and good technical knowledge of Sterling Order Management System components, API's, and related Interfaces.
- Experience in Retail/e-commerce Industry
Functional/Technical Competencies:
- Hands-on functional and technical experience on Sterling Distributed Order Management, Selling and Fulfillment
- Hands-on Sterling development experience in one or more Sterling modules
- Strong knowledge of Sterling Order Management System components, APIs, and related interfaces
- Strong foundation in Java
- Experience leading a team to meet business needs and deliver business value.
