Senior UI/UX Designer

The department Driver Interaction & Infotainment are responsible for the development of Volvo Cars Infotainment and Driver Information and Audio systems. Within this department there are five section departments and one of them is the section responsible for the Digital User eXperience, called DUX development center. The DUX Interaction group consist of 20 employees. Our mission is making the best UI solution for all applications in the car like media, radio, Phone, Driver information, Driver support systems and more. We are a crucial part for all applications and features in the car that is in need of User Interaction to make the User Experience of the Volvo Car complete. Our responsibility is the logic and behavior of the applications and features.
As Senior UX/UI Designer you will be responsible leading and creating the UI guidelines for all the visual display areas available in the car environment. This means taking in to account the end user aspects as well as the technical prerequisites. You will mainly work in the borderline between advanced engineering and concepting, but also verifying the end solution when implemented. Your background is within the UX field and experience from the complexity of creating a perfectly tailor made UI solution down to all the details that means knowing the user, translating that need to the system and software developers through our visual interaction specifications. We are looking for a person who wants to dig down in the details and understand them to create a foundation for the interaction designers to start working from to get a homogenous DUX solution in the very end. Having the end user's needs and human factors limitations taken in to account.
Main responsibilities
* Establish the DUX Visual framework area and its requirement setting
* Develop a long term strategy for the DUX Visual framework
* Apply the user centered design way of working within the organisation
* Initiate customer clinics and analyse customer feed-back
* Initiate and manage predevelopment and monitor the established development for the area
* Monitor and analyse competitors and consumer electronics development
* Complete testing needs and methods to be applied for the area
Required qualifications
* University degree in Cognitive Science, Behavioural Science, Information Science or Computer Sience
* 4 years from practical experience, specialising in design human and machine interaction
* Documented experience in UI/UX development
* Fluent in English, spoken and written
* General computer knowledge
* Software and system design development is meritorious
* Experience from the automotive industry is meritorious
* Experience from UI development tools like Axure or similar is an advantage
