The scheduling of crew for large airlines is a very complex problem and needs to be broken down into several smaller problems that can be solved sequentially. The crew pairing problem is the problem of creating cost efficient schedules for crew members taking into account regulatory rules, resource limits etc., as well as integrating with the other planning steps for crew and aircraft to obtain a more effective solution for the airlines. Jeppesen puts a pride in delivering the most advanced and competent products to the aviation industry. Therefore, we need to strengthen our optimization teams.

As a member of the pairing optimization team, you will be responsible for the core optimization module. This module is the backbone of our pairing optimization product, which is used by all Jeppesen Crew & Fleet customers. Your tasks will vary over time and might consist of everything from mathematical modeling and design to implementation, testing, performance tuning and maintenance. You will be working in a highly experienced team, active in all phases of product development. Your tasks will require you to combine strong communication skills with technical excellence and an eagerness to take on challenges. You should enjoy variety and multi-cultural environments. It is a merit if you have experience from agile SW development methodologies and have been working with database handling.

Required experience

- Master of science or higher in physics, computing science, software engineering or mathematics
- Expert C++ developer with proven track record from industrial product development
- Experienced optimization and algorithm developer
- Well versed with mathematical modeling

Preferred qualification(s):

- Ph.D. degree in physics, computing science, software engineering or mathematics
- Proven track record of industrial product development
- Experience from agile software development methodologies, focusing on continuous learning and improvement
