Software Developer: Internal Packet Transport (IPT)

Business Unit Radio is responsible for the companys industry leading radio products and solutions and is the foundation for Ericssons technology leadership. The newly created Product Development Unit (PDU) Base Band and Transport consisting of approximately 1700 R&D professionals spanning R&D sites in Europe and Asia. The PDU is responsible for all aspects of Base Band and Transport HW and SW module development and their integration. The products are part of Ericsson Radio System. The PDU will be heavily involved in product development for 5G.

The newly created Sync & Packet Transport (SPT) unit consists of approximately 200 R&D professionals spanning R&D sites in Sweden, Europe and Asia. The SPT unit work with Synchronization and Packet Transport development for Ericsson Radio System Products towards 5G and also perform as a competence center in these areas for DU Radio.

The SPT unit is responsible for three sub functional modules in the Multi Standard RBS ? Internal Packet Transport (IPT), Radio Inter Connect (RIC) and Synchronization (SYNC). The IPT Sub FM is responsible for Ethernet based node internal communication services. The RIC Sub FM is responsible for managing the CPRI communication links between Baseband Units, Auxiliary Multiplexing Units and Radio Units. The SYNC Sub FM is responsible for synchronizing the RBS time base and frequency distribution to external references, distributing time and frequency to external interfaces.

To be able to meet the great challenges in 5G, we are now looking for a stage 6 developer within the IPT area.

Job Description:

Developing solutions in the IPT area for Ericsson Radio System Products towards 5G.
Development of automated test cases and test suites.
Maintenance of existing software, trouble report handling and support cases etc.
Handling lab equipment.
Participate in system studies.
Drive continuous improvement of products and processes
Support with knowledge of IPT software and verification in different situations like task forces, support questions and support to other parts of Ericsson.

Minimum Qualifications

M.Sc., B.Sc. or similar in the Computer, Electrical or Telecommunication Science areas
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience Requirements:

Software programming skills (C/C++)
Experience in automated test (JAVA, JCAT)
Unix/Linux skills.
Knowledge in Data and telecommunication technology
Product Development Knowledge
Product Life Cycle Management Knowledge
Lean & Agile Knowledge and Skills
Good communication skills.
