SCM Ventures is an internal startup incubator within Schibsted Classified Media with quite a few successfully ramped up companies in our history.

We are an eight developer strong team, many of us with international background, and we're now strengthening the team with one more developer based in Stockholm.  You'll work in a very experienced, yet extremely down-to-earth, team that will give you a lot of support but also freedom. The job involves working on our current products as well as being a part of new ones we come up with. 

Our tech stack has an extensibly proven track record of being scalable and we value clean code just as high as user experience and stability in our launches.

We are at this point Not interested in contacts from recruiters or agencies.

You probably don't consider yourself a backend- or frontend hacker but rather see yourself as a webapp developer with a good overall understanding (some call it Full Stack, we call it skilled). You're not afraid of tackling large existing codebases and have no problems starting with a fresh slate.  You probably have experience with not only building scalable and efficient webapps but also with deployment and monitoring of them. You are likely to have dabbled with iOS/Android development but your main interest is in web.

Technologies we work with include HTML5/Javascript/CSS, Go, C, PostgreSQL, AngularJS, Redis, Chef, Linux, Ansible, virtualization of various kinds, the Atlassian suite and much more. Extensive automated tests are executed on every push and we are actively working on improving our continuous deployment pipeline.

SCM Ventures is a Stockholm based subsidiary of Schibsted Classified Media and Schibsted Media Group.  SCM Ventures' mission is to develop, re-think and export both existing products and concepts in the Schibsted portfolio (such as Blocket.se and Tripwell.com) as well as new concepts. Today, SCM Ventures have products deployed covering markets in Africa, South America and Europe. Products in our portfolio include, among many others, Tayara.tn and Aggeliopolis.gr.

The position is based at our centrally located Stockholm office a stones throw from the central station but Schibsted Classified Media is a truly global group of companies and we collaborate closely with colleagues all around the world on a daily basis.
