Important Looking Pirates (ILP) is a successful visual effects and digital animation studio located in central Stockholm. We can proudly say that we have assembled one of the best visual effects teams in the business. All our artists, technicians, producers and support personnel are driven by passion for what we do and we always strive to push the limits of what we can accomplish utilizing the latest technology. We provide assistance in all forms of digital production including commercials, TV, film, web, games and print to customers all over the world.
Due to higher work load we are looking for a full time system administrator to join ILP´s technical team. This position will share the responsibility for ensuring a reliable, efficient and scalable IT infrastructure. This position is located in Stockholm and you will be hired directly by ILP.
Responsibilities
As a system administrator you will have an important role where you ensure that IT systems operate reliably to meet the needs of production. The position involves documentation of internal IT procedures, maintenance of hardware/software and license inventory lists. You will work closely with the CTO on planning both short and long term infrastructure projects.
Other key responsibilities are:
- Administer and support all users on Linux, OSX and Windows
- Maintain and develop provisioning, deployment and configuration management systems
- Administer virtualization environment servers and hosts
- Maintain and manage the network infrastructure as well as core network services
- Production backup and project archiving administration tasks
Essential Skills
We are looking for someone with at least three years of experience in system administration or with similar qualifications. You should have experience in the following areas:
- Networking and storage configuration and management
- Linux, OSX, Windows management and integration
- Strong understanding of maintenance and deployment of core network services/protocols such as LDAP, DNS, DHCP, PXE and NFS
- Configuration management and deployment tools such as puppet/forman/cobbler/cfengine
- Skilled at troubleshooting both hardware and software issues and escalate as appropriate
- Linux bash scripting and/or python scripting skills
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Able to communicate clearly with non-technical production staff
Desirable Skills
- VMware or other virtualization platform
- Familiarity in working with high capacity storage systems such as Isilon, BlueArc or Dell FluidFS / Compellent
- Experience with zabbix or other distributed monitoring solutions
- Mysql / PostgresSQL
- Version control systems such as GIT / SVN
- Experience of render farm software such as tractor, qube or deadline
- Previous experience in the VFX/Post industry supporting software such as Maya, Nuke and Houdini
