Pipe Master/ Scrum Master

In brief

Nordnet IT is divided into Operations and Development. Development consists of six (today) development “pipes” and one platform team. The pipes are independent, product oriented, agile, full stack teams including product owners (from our Innovations team), pipe masters, hackers, QA and application support. The pipes' task is to take ideas to launch.

Our development environment is Windows or Mac, and Linux. Our test and production environments are Red Hat Linux.

This is part of the role

The “what & when” is handled by each pipe’s product owner, and the “how” is taken care of by you, the pipe master, whose responsibilities are to manage the pipe’s day to day tech-work.

Your job is to plan and lead your pipe. You should also provide design and development support to your pipe members, when needed. Our technical and architectural strategy is evolved by our platform team so you need to maintain a tight contact with them, especially when you want to strengthen our technical framework.

Another important task is to keep in touch with other dev pipes so you know what’s up and can identify dependencies and needs for synchronization.

The product owner is your partner and together you maintain and refine the product backlog so the epics and user stories with high priority are in a good shape when they are handed over to your pipe members.

The pipe master role also includes being a spokesperson for the team in different forums and to act as technical support to the product owner and stakeholders.

• You have several years of experience and expertise in software development.
• You have also experience as a team leader and have been successful in the role, thanks to good leadership.
• In your work you are organized, careful and methodical in a way that benefits the team's working climate and ability to deliver high quality solutions.

As a Pipe Master you:

• Are passionate about team evolution in tech aspects as well as people and cooperation
• Are highly communicative, transparent and a good listener

• Education – MSC or similar within data, math or telecom
• Agile work methods in practice

• Services, preferably REST
