What You'll Do
-Define the high-level tech direction for the engineering team, and to define and maintain an ongoing technology roadmap covering 3/6/12 month timeframes.
-Drive regular communication of architectural strategy and concrete plans with the entire engineering team to drive alignment. Define our technology end-state and the tangible steps to get there.
-Help reconcile our product ambitions with our engineering initiatives. Align the engineering team on how we will execute on a daily basis.
-Debate, agree and commit to a design strategy for our overall systems and how they interoperate with considerations for maintainability, scale and cost.
-Articulate a strategy and plan to decompose our platform into a set of services deployed with Containers and Cloud hosting environments.
-Develop prototypes and service layers to enable engineering teams.
-Collaborate w/Engineers and PMs to determine appropriate & sustainable architecture.
-Ensure our platform is continuously evolving with appropriate layers of abstraction and delegation.
-Maintain focus on quality by reinforcing a culture of test automation and -Constantly look for opportunities to improve system performance with instrumentation and load/stress testing.
-Utilize monitoring & metrics to validate architectural decisions and provide real-time feedback to the business

Requirements
-5+ years experience in architecture and development
-3+ years scaling C#, Ruby, or NodeJS applications
-Understanding and familiarity with at least one of the following: C#, Ruby.
-Previous experience architecting highly available and scalable SOA, cloud-based systems
-Previous experience defining and monitoring service SLAs
-Deep understanding of message-driven systems, asynchronous processing, RPC, REST, etc.
-Experience building large-scale distributed systems
-Extensive knowledge of good Object-Oriented design and Domain-Driven Design principles
