Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer here at Klarna, you'll get to research and implement new credit risk variables into our credit risk systems.

More specifically, you?ll get to;

Identify, implement and test new credit variables in our Hadoop based credit risk decisioning systems that perform credit scoring in real time.
Your primary focus will be on structuring a multitude of existing data sources to make them available to our risk variable library.
Ensure new variables fit our global requirements and align with our wider business goals.
Gain a deep understanding of the implications of different data sources used at Klarna.
Analyse the performance of different data pipes and aggregations.
Set up a monitoring framework that different teams can use to keep control over their datasets.
You'll need to have;

An expert knowledge of using SQL to query and restructure data within large data stores; we mainly use Hive to query our Hadoop cluster.
An interest in big data and data innovations.
An academic background in Information Science, Computer Science or a mathematical discipline.
