The Driver Interaction & Infotainment department is part of the Electrics/Electronics & Chassis unit within R&D. The department is responsible for electrical systems and components in the areas of Driver Interaction (Instrument Cluster, Entertainment Displays, Switches, Climate Control), HMI and Infotainment (Audio, Navigation, Telephony, Bluetooth, Connectivity). The posting of this position follows upon a reorganisation within the department, aiming at delivering the Volvo Car Groups ambitious plans around HMI and connectivity. The section Vehicle Infotainment Platform is now looking for a group manager for SW development Infotainment Head Unit group. The SW development group is responsible for developing SW for HMI and vehicle function applications within Infotainment Head Unit components. Also Linux architectural roles for Infotainment Head Unit are included in the team. These developers are located in mixed teams with the supplier resources and are working in an Agile setup.

As Group Manager - SW Development Infotainment Head Unit you will be responsible for a group of 15 people. Your main responsibility will be to support and build up a development team and work with strategy regarding infotainment platform and working processes within SW development area. You will report to the Director of Vehicle Infotainment Platform and be a part of the management group within this section.

Main responsibilities

* Lead of the Technical Meeting for the Group - TMG
* Actively participate in the management team for Vehicle Infotainment Platform
* Secure adequate development opportunities for the employees
* Coach the SW developer in their daily task

Required qualifications

* B.Sc. degree in data science or equal
* Previous managerial experience
* Several years' experience of working within SW development
* Experience of working in an international environment
* Genuine interest and engagement in management questions and personal development
* Master the English and Swedish language both spoken and in writing
* Experience of development working in the automobile industry, knowledge of Volvo Car Group´s development process in general and the electrical development process is meritorious
