Senior Operations Engineer

Qapital is looking for an enthusiastic and talented Senior Operations Engineer to join our team in Stockholm. You will be crucial in successfully configuring, evolving, maintaining, and designing new and existing infrastructure and platform components, for production, staging, and development environments.

Responsibilities
You will be the in-house operations expert and work closely with the development team and operations consultants to pro-actively ensure that our platforms and systems are secure, scalable, maintainable and robust. Typical concerns would include scaling up and out, load balancing, monitoring and alerting. An active participation in continuous improvement of development tools and deployment pipelines is expected.

Skills and requirements
At least three years of technical operations and/or devops experience in a Linux environment, preferably Ubuntu/Debian
Experience with Apple hardware and software, such as macOS and iOS running on Macs, iPhones, iPads, etc.
Experience with configuration and large scale deployment of the MySQL database
Experience with configuring, deploying, and running operations for JVM-based applications
Experience with deploying applications on and managing Amazon Web Services
Experience with automation tools, such as Ansible
Solid understanding of security concerns around backend applications exposing HTTPS-based API’s via nginx
Excellent communications skills in English, both written and oral. Swedish is not required. Must know how to effectively communicate with asynchronous, remote teams via email, Slack, Trello, etc.
Great team skills, and a desire to get even better ones

Experience with the following is considered a plus:

NoSQL datastores, especially ElasticSearch and Redis
Java and the Spring Boot framework
