Are you a skilled and ambitious database developer that wants to join our global award winning technology team? The database is the foundation of our service to provide reviews to our alaTest websites and partners in over 40 countries. You will work in our multi-national tech team to improve the overall process of collecting, structuring, analyzing and delivering millions of product reviews.

The alaTest tech team works with various state-of-the-art technologies to provide unique global review solutions. We collect review data from thousands of international review websites and magazines, develop and maintain data-flow and ETL processes to load and structure data, use machine learning and natural language processing to analyze the millions of reviews and deliver the content to our clients via REST APIs and feeds. We have a heterogeneous platform developed in Python and Java using open source software and a combination of battle-hardened solutions like MySQL and Solr as well as asynchronous web technologies like Tornado/Cyclone.

We are working with agile techniques including Kanban and continuous improvement in order to make sure that the products we develop reach the market as fast as possible while maintaining the quality excellence we need.

You should be comfortable with and interested in shared ownership of code, agile development, open source technologies, etc. You have interest in both development of data delivery solutions and database development and administration. As a person, you are motivated by developing creative solutions with innovative technology, you like to take responsibility and show initiative, and are comfortable in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. You take a pragmatic approach to problem solving, but always maintain a strong focus on quality.

Responsibilities:
* Install, maintain and upgrade production level databases
*Proactively monitor the database systems and perform maintenance activities to ensure availability and performance of the databases
*Configure and monitor database replication and backup
*Be involved in the development of various data-flow and ETL related tasks
*Participate in the development, deployment and management of core backend services
*Collaborate with developers on database design, query optimization, data indexing and so on
*Suggest and implement improvements of the data infrastructure

Requirements:
* An academic degree or equivalent experience of database development.
*Minimum 3 years of MySQL or similar development and administration experience
*Experience with query optimization, DB replication, DB performance tuning, DB design, etc.
*Software development experience in Java and/or Python
*Experience with Linux
*Experience with Percona, MySQL UDF is a plus
*Experience with MongoDB and/or other NoSQL databases is a plus
*Experience with Lucene/Solr/ElasticSearch is a plus
*You must be authorized to work in Sweden
