Semcon now increases delivery capacity in the area of Embedded Software Development, Cloud based Services and Internet of Things. We’re forming a new department in Stockholm with multiple competencies, adding to the existing network of capabilities, nationally and internationally.

Semcon’s strength lies in Product Development based on Human Behaviour. We already have great skills in UX and interaction design at the same time as we are traditionally strong in embedded software / embedded systems. Embedded Systems is a core business area within Semcon Sweden AB. We’re also part of Semcon’s international network with more than 200 consultants and developers, making us one of the leaders within the area. We work with customers in various industries such as automotive, defence, telecom, medical technology and other product developing industries.

We’re hiring multiple roles to the new department, consolidating our position on the Stockholm market.

Your role – Front-end software developer
We are looking for someone with experience from design and development of user interfaces for products. The role includes both embedded user interfaces like dashboards and product displays and services connected to products, for example desktop applications or remote control apps for mobile devices. In both cases, the user's experience is in focus. That means work in several of the following areas:

Systems development Service Design Front-end programming Systems planning & architecture Cloud applications and distributed systems Mobile applications GUI and functional testing Prototype development C#/DOTNET/Java, QT Swift/Objective C HTML/CSS and XML

Your background
To take on this role in a good way, we see that you have:

Higher education in interaction design or related areas such as computer science, systems engineering or technical design At least three years of experience from product development in industries such as automotive, defense or medical technology Experience in requirements management, information architecture and design of user interaction Experience in concept development and prototyping with tools such as Balsamiq, Axure or other UX / HMI tools Experience or good understanding of technology platforms such as HTML5, C#, Java/JavaScript, CSS, QT etc. Knowledge and insight in branding and design
