About the job

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and skilled software engineer interested in mechatronics/electronics to work alongside our existing team. The job you will start in will be developing software features on our existing projects.  

In this position you will work with products from concept to production, continually pushing the boundaries, using cutting edge technologies to create design classics. In time, your responsibilities will be all things technical with elements of research, cad, pcb-hardware, firmware, software, UI and reporting.

To start with, we would like you to be ready to work as front end, back end developer in Javascript, Django and Python. First task will be adding features to the web-server parts of our existing products. One part will be supporting our design team to great exciting new patterns on our clock product. An interest in in geometry and math-art is a big bonus.

Tasks will vary and could later grow and expand in other more general mechatronics areas and the opportunity to learn and develop is great.

About you

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about software and electronics and improving on existing technical solutions. It’s a bonus if you have worked with embedded and microcontroller type systems like Raspberry pi and Arduino and have reasonable awareness of what else is out there and how to use it. As a person, you are excited about every aspect of this type of work and want to build something you are proud of. You enjoy workshopping your ideas with the team, but are eager to push forward and execute them as well.

  • Work with SW programming for a new HW platform with some support and mentoring.
  • Conduct scientific research and testing on our products, or new ideas for feasibility.
  • Modify software, or PCB design, based on design or manufaturer feedback.
  • Add features to our in-house tools and databases so your colleagues and work more efficiently.
  • Assist support with on-site or remote troubleshooting. Sometimes flying to other countries.
  • Fast prototyping of CAD, hardware and software for proof of concept ideas.
  • You will take on many different tasks at the same time. Have the ability to self-prioritize and also to discuss that priority list with a clear understanding of the vision of the company.
  • You have spent time developing in Python and C or equivalent languages.
  • You have a reasonable understanding of Linux. You are able to explain what various commands do and when to use them.
  • A bonus is a basic understanding of digital systems and are able to explain how a piece of hardware works.
  • It’s a merit if you can tell us about something technical you designed or made in your spare time, for instance written your own program or if you have been involved in technical community events such as hackathons.
