System Developer for Product Integrated Services to the Connected Services and Solutions Department

The transport efficiency tools group develops tools and modules that supports transportation of goods by improving the profitability and sustainability of transport companies. We are around 100 employees and consultants and are part of the connected services and solutions hub, which constitutes its own business area within Scania.
 
Job description
You will be an important part of a DevOps-inspired scrum-team that develops solutions for a modern trip computer that is intended to be the drivers right hand. The applications running on the trip computer has an architecture that stretches all the way via the on-board communicator in the vehicle to our cloud based micro services.
 
The trip computer is a hardware mounted in the instrument panel. It contains a radio unit, a navigator but also a web browser that hosts our front-end applications. The trip computer is used by the driver to communicate with the transport planners in order to get information about the transport mission.
 
Your profile
You can write clever and easy code for applications in the on-board communicator that routes the data traffic between the vehicles trip computer and the cloud based back-end so you must be comfortable with working in Linux environments and with hardware.
 
Since embedded control units sometimes require creative debug environments, we encourage you dare to use hardware to best develop and test your code.
 
Focus is on development of the parts of the on-board communicator that communicates with the trip computer. However, we expect you to want to learn how to work full-stack by also developing our backend services and to contribute by introducing new technologies to the team.
 
You will together with your team drive the work with partners within the VW-group forward, in order to improve the integration between the teams applications and the on-board communicator.
 
You have relevant degree or equivalent qualification in the area, and at least 3 years’ experience in system development.
 
Key concepts that you master or know about:
Embedded: C/C++, Linux,
Back-end stack: .NET, C#, micro services, Node.js, REST, WebAPI, SQL Server/No SQL, Visual Studio, RTC, Truck.
Deploy/Operation stack: TeamCity, Octopus, Docker, Vagrant, AWS, Windows.
