Group IT is located in Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. We are 1400 employees responsible for running the bank, developing and maintening business strategic and central systems in Swedbank.

All development is managed in projects and we deliver approximately 600 projects and pre-studies during a business year.

Swedbank is seeking a motivated and skilled security professional to join a Security Incident Response Team and help us preventing incidents turning into crises.

Assignment specification

In the role as SIRT Officer you would be responsible to handle IT security incidents to minimize their impact to Swedbank and its customers, gather and analyze information and proactively seek other ways to early detect and to prevent incidents from materializing. You will be interacting and collaborating both cross borders and across organizational dimensions, within the bank as well as externally, to ensure proper information flow during incidents.

Your tasks will consist of:

Gathering and analyzing of information about potential threats to Swedbank Discovery and management of security incidents, including computer fraud and post-incident’s investigation Proactive work to prevent security incidents
The SIRT Officers are expected to act with high integrity and to escalate risk issues where the risk/reward tradeoffs are not appropriate. On-call duties should be expected on a rotating basis in schedule less than a week a month.

You are highly motivated and have a proactive mentality, strong problem solving skills, proven ability to analyze and articulate ideas and develop recommendations under uncertainty and regarding “grey areas”; ability to obtain data and information from disparate sources, link and analyze the information received.

The successful candidate will combine a strong academic background educated to degree level, preferably with a background in computer science, mathematics or the sciences, or with solid professional experience of at least 4 years preferably from working with of IT development, system administration, or security.

You are a well-organized individual who can keep several tasks running in parallel without losing focus or quality. You must be able to work whenever there’s no clear ruling available, under stressful conditions and are able to perform under pressure to deadlines, sometimes off office hours. You are passionate about what you do; show initiative, and are a strong team player, preferably with cross-border experience.

Skills and qualities important to possess as a SIRT Officer in order to be successful in the role:

University degree or practical IT working experience of at least 4 years Ability to gather and analyse information Knowledge and experience at least one of the following: Windows, Unix, or databases Fundamentals of computer networks, network protocols, and applications Knowledge of information security principles, including risks and threats to computers and networks, security vulnerabilities and attacks Knowledge and experience of Java and Python programming languages would be seen as an advantage Software reverse engineering, or cryptography knowledge, or penetration testing (OWASP), and demonstrated computer forensics skills would be seen as an advantage Knowledge of basic digital electronics would be seen as an advantage Good verbal and written communication skills in English is a necessity, Swedish skills would be seen as advantage Candidate must be a resident of EU or have a work permit in Sweden
