Senior Network Engineer and Team Lead

About the position and two roles

You will work in a cross country team with our data-center network solutions. As part of the Network team you will work with and coordinate the other members of the network staff to maintain and improve the network environment. Working with events, incidents, changes and various projects.

Your workplace will be at our office in Stockholm, but the department carries out work on the environments in all three Basefarm countries.

This position includes two different roles, first as senior network engineer and then to fulfill the role as team lead for the Stockholm Network group. As an example, your work will include:

Senior Network Engineer:

• Prioritize, diagnose and solve incidents according to agreed procedures
• Take responsibility for problem resolution, recommend options and implement if required.
• Reviewing and implementation of Customer change requests
• Planning, assessing and executing maintenance tasks on the production platform
• Design and build network solutions according to customer needs and BF principle
• Assist with system designs and specifications, overall architectures, topologies, configuration databases and design documentation of networks
• Define, document and carry out small projects alone or with a small team, actively participating in all phases.

Team Lead:

• Plan maintenance activities and participate in CAB
• Plan use of resources (vacation, dispatch, maintenance work, projects etc.)
• Be the communication interface towards sales, project and service delivery
• The point of contact for escalation in the Stockholm office
• Follow-up on delivery towards external and internal stakeholders
• Participate in the budget planning process

Requirements for the position:

• 3 years or more experience from working in a data-center network environment
• Experience from configuring & administering F5 BIG-IP LTM system and load balancing services
• Experience from configuring & administering Junipers switches and routers
• Experience from configuring & administering Cisco ASA firewall systems
• Fluent in Swedish & English (speaking & writing)
• Experience from working in Linux and Windows operating systems
• Have worked in a company using the ITIL framework

The following are considered a merit:

• Juniper JNCIP-ENT or DC track
• Cisco CCNP routing and switching Certification or Data-center track
• F5 301b certification
• Experience from working with VM-ware NSX
• Linux bash scripting & python programming
• Setting up and maintaining Ansible playbooks for network automation

There will be some requirements to work evenings and nights. With experience, requirements might include on-call rotation as well.
