JOB DESCRIPTION

A programmer at Uplay PC works with everything from back-end services and API’s, to the player-facing client and overlay, used by gamers every single day. You will have the power and freedom to make a difference that our users will notice. We expect you to identify problems, suggest features and always strive for something better. Operating a live platform is a team effort and presents a unique challenge, solving problems, implementing changes and inventing new technology as we need it, together with our own team members, and other teams within Ubisoft.

You will join a multi-disciplinary team where everyone is willing to expand their knowledge and encouraged to continue learning new things. This is a permanent position based in Malmö, Sweden, and requires working onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implementation of new systems, while improving existing systems in C++ 
  • Dealing with topics such as scalability, stability, security and testing of services
  • Working closely together with designers, programmers, infrastructure engineers and testers to bring suggestions from an idea to a released feature

You as a person

You have a desire to work within the games industry and enjoy taking on challenges with a team approach and open mindset, while being able to take initiative.You’re communicative and driven, interested in making improvements to existing code, and want to share best practices to increase the knowledge in the team. You are not afraid of making mistakes and learning from them.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with programming in C++, ideally in a multi threaded environment
  • Knowledge of SQL databases
  • Understanding of Software Engineering principles, and their constraints
  • Knowledge of network programming is desirable
  • Knowledge of other technologies we use is a bonus, such as: C#, SQL, Python, JavaScript and HTML/CSS
