Data Warehouse Delivery Architect / Tech Lead Consultant

Position Summary
The Delivery Architect / Tech Lead Consultant will primarily support Teradata post sales efforts. The consultant will thoroughly understand the client's information technology infrastructure, serving as the key link between business needs and technology enablers. While a delivery architect is not expected to be a business process engineer, they should have enough context in the business drivers to continuously communicate the business impact to both the IT and business constituents throughout the process. The Consultant will participate in the design and development of an architecture that will be aligned with the client's business objectives. The delivery architect may be the Project Tech Lead on a project.
Key Areas of Responsibility
As a lead technical consultant on complex engagements, primary focus will be to support Teradata Nordic in delivering profitable business:
. Play lead technical role on large, complex data warehouse project implementations
. Understand the client's business goals, IT plan and architecture and articulate linkage to the proposed data warehouse architecture and design
. Being a trusted advisor to the customer's decision-makers by establishing credibility and expertise in data warehouse technology/architecture or other areas related to Teradata's solution offerings
. Work with Teradata project managers to scope projects and develop a statement of work, project plan, and risk analysis.
. Provide technical thought leadership and participate in the data warehouse design and integration effort, including data sourcing and transformation, logical/physical modeling, ETL development, application development, and testing/production rollout
. Mentor junior consultants

Skills
. Strong consulting skills supported by good communication practices, the ability to facilitate consensus building, and the ability to support the customer in trade-off analysis.
. Data/Information Centric - Understands the customer's data from the perspective of how it is used to run their business and how it integrates into Teradata's LDMs and applications.
. Superior knowledge of new techniques, models, processes, methodologies, and plans within architecture disciplines. Specifically:
. Solid understanding of the Teradata Architecture CUBE and the underlying methodology.
. The ability to apply the Teradata Architecture Principles to all work output and use them as metrics against all propositions, architectures and designs.
. The ability to apply the Teradata Advocated Positions.
. Understands the components of data modeling, Logical - Physical - Dimensional - Semantic, and how they are implemented with Teradata LDMs, Tables, Join Indexes, and Views.
. In depth knowledge of ETL tools and the SQL language.
. Ability to understand and properly use data integration techniques such as ETL and ELT.
. Profiling, validating, conditioning, transforming, and cleansing of data.
. Superior knowledge of the Teradata Database, Teradata Aster Database, and / or Hadoop platform.
Education / Experience Requirements
. Solid understanding of data warehouse applications, architectures, solutions, and technologies
. Industry experience from one or more industries, including telco, retail, financial, insurance, and manufacturing
. 10 plus years experience in database consulting, application development, or systems integration, including hands-on experience in design, development and implementation of very large relational database applications for decision support
. Teradata experience. Teradata certification is a plus
. Master degree in Business or Computer Science
. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, analytical and problem solving skills
