Big Data Architect

Do you like building great products? That’s what we’re doing here at Mynewsdesk. And we want more people with awesome skills to join our team! Right now, we are looking for a skilled Big Data Architect to join our Dev Team in Stockholm!

What is it like to work at Mynewsdesk?  We offer a workplace where the development teams are working in close collaboration with product owners and designers. We use Scrum methodology, aiming to do pair or mob programming every day. Even though we have separate teams, we share our knowledge and interests in cross-team meetings, internal conferences and lunch presentations. We love to learn and that’s why we have daily stand-ups, regular lab days and DevCorners all year round.

What's our stack? We work with a modern tech stack, built mainly with Ruby on Rails in the backend and React in the frontend. We focus on building our apps, while letting cloud services run them for us and we use various big data services to process our customers data and the media landscape around us, to allow a truly data driven PR workflow.

What will you do?

• You will be responsible for extending and continuously improving the architecture and implementation of our Analytics platform
• You will consolidate and optimize our current Big Data infrastructure
• You will be part in planning and building our future Big Data strategy 
• You will become a valid teammate in a cross functional team of developers, designers and product leads
• You will participate in discussions and workshops to tackle our customers’ daily troubles
• You will continuously deliver value to thousands of users and millions of visitors

• You enjoy working in an agile environment and being responsible for the technical design, implementation, maintenance and testing of software
• You are fluent in English 
• You are experienced in databases (ex. PostgreSQL, Redshift)
• Skills that would be a huge plus: SPARK and/or Ruby knowledge
