The Position

The ideal candidate feels comfortable in a team environment and is able to contribute on many levels like research, modeling, texturing and effects. You will also be responsible for providing tools and improving pipelines and workflows that will maximise efficiency.

As an employee of Avalanche Studios, you work in an environment where social skills are just as important as your professional skills. You work with a team of talented and experienced game developers, who have worked on numerous best-selling and critically acclaimed titles.

Alongside your project, you will be a member of our knowledge based platform Crafts. In the Tools Craft, you meet and develop with Tech Artists and Tools Programmers cross-projects. You share experiences and knowledge with each other, in order to learn and to be aligned cross-projects on what makes the best Open-world experiences.

Required qualifications

Minimum 3 years in the games industry
Expert knowledge of Maya
Comprehensive experience of Python
High proficiency in technical problem solving
Strong knowledge of current real-time 3D graphics techniques and optimization
Strong knowledge of different aspects of 3D content production
Basic knowledge of shaders (hlsl, glsl etc) and the principles of PBR
Comfortable working independently and within a group
Shipped game titles as Technical Artist preferably a AAA title.

Desired qualifications

Experience working with PS4 and/or Xbox One hardware
Substance Painter and Designer, Photoshop, Zbrush or Mudbox knowledge
Knowledge of particle systems, environmental effects, lighting and dynamics
Knowledge of coding (C++, etc) a big plus
