UI Designer

We are looking for a UI designer for our product team. Join us, and you'll be a part of a growing company that creates award-winning products and has a strong desire to create something inspiring and beautiful. You will work with novel designs as well as with well-established brands, such as Marshall, Chandler Limited, Tube-Tech and Solid State Logic. You will be a part of the design process from the first drafts of a project all the way to the release. Your designs will be a central part of the future of Softube, and you will be able to define your role to make the best possible outcome for both you and us!
Position Details and Application
The position is full-time, on-site at Softube headquarters in Linköping Sweden. Applicants with a EU work permit are preferred.

Job Description
. Design artistic, beautiful, inspiring and usable user interfaces for our plug-ins and other software, from mockups and wireframes to release ready software and marketing assets.
. Work with Product Owners to implement their ideas (usually a bunch of post-it notes with scribbled names, boxes and arrows) into something beautiful.
. Convert existing hardware into a usable and visually distinct software design.
. Create engineering specifications for UX elements.
. Create designs for novel products that visually harmonizes with their functions (era, style, sound, etc.)
. Create "release ready" assets for software products, or manage its production.
. Discuss ideas and design concepts with stake holders and the team and together work towards an optimal design, in terms of technical feasibility, visual identity, and beauty.
. Collaborate with marketing in creating a visual identity on the software side, as well as providing them with beautiful marketing assets.
Your Profile
You have an intuitive feeling for where a VU meter or volume knob needs to sit. You get excited with novel interface elements, just as you know to appreciate a good ol' "OK" button. You are passionate about margins, typefaces, and colors. You get inspired about the tiny details that define an era, and won't rest until you nail it. You have a strong desire to create something that inspires people and that is easy to understand. You think that the best details are the ones no-one notices until they're missing.
. A passionate designer with proven track record of crafting beautiful & usable interfaces
. You can inspire your coworkers, explain your ideas and designs, and you love constructive feedback.
. Knowledge and understanding of good user design, common practices and up-to-date with modern user interface design.
. Knowledge and experience of audio gear, with all its quirky "that's just how it always was" idiosyncrasies.
. Experience of, or a desire to learn, script based programming languages.
. Fluent in English.
