Radio Network Data Scientist (209644)

Position Summary
The Radio System Management Analytics section within PDU 4G & 5G is responsible for driving the Radio Network analytics operation at PDU 4G & 5G RAN. The responsibility and focus is on identifying, developing, applying and automate analytics and Machine Learning methods targeting trouble shooting, understand product behavior in field, support product development and to evolve and integrate these technologies into tools and the 4G and 5G products. It also includes to spread and grow the analytics competence within the PDU. The RSM Analytics section is also responsible for the Smartphone Lab Program. Smartphone lab support Ericsson business by providing industry unique and customer relevant insights, based on analysis of current and future applications, for all access technologies, but with focus on 4G/5G. The section has team members in Kista and in Ottawa.

We are now looking for a Radio Network and Application Data Scientist with proven statistical and analytic skills and experience, to join the team in Kista.

Responsibilities & Tasks
Understand, adapt and apply machine learning and AI techniques in the radio network context, for product implementation, product monitoring and product trouble shooting purposes
Conduct Technical Analyses studies with focus on Machine Learning/AI techniques targeting implementation into the 4G and 5G Radio Network and Network Management products
Evolve methods to analyze radio network performance and system behavior using all available system data sources
Perform radio network investigations to understand system behavior and network performance
Perform investigations and analysis to understand application behavior and performance
Based on data analysis, identify performance improvement areas and take improvement actions for discovered anomalies
Put requirement on and drive tools development for network data collection and data analysis

Position Qualifications
Core Competences:
Excellent understanding of Mobile Network and Radio Access Technologies in general and LTE and 5G in particular
Good understanding of end user applications and protocols, e.g. IP/TCP/QUIC, web and video services
Documented experience in machine learning, deep learning, data mining and big data modelling paired with good statistical and analytical skills
Familiar with Big Data data management techniques (e.g. Hadoop, SPARK)
Have excellent scripting and programming skills (e.g. R, Python, Scala, MATLAB)
Experienced user of Radio Network post processing and exploration tools (e.g. ITK, ADAT, MATLAB, Tableau, SAS Analytics, Power BI or similar)
Experience from product development and system management
Experience from working in Lean and Agile environments
