Senior Software Engineer - DSP

The Team
MediaTek is a leading global semiconductor company for wireless communications and digital multimedia solutions.  The company is a market leader for SoC chipsets and software for mobile phone handsets.

At MediaTek Sweden, we develop a programmable DSP platform optimized for signal processing in wireless modems.  Our technology is used in MediaTek cellular modems for LTE and LTE advanced, in chipsets that are produced in their millions every month.

Our processor is continuously evolving, and right now we are working on architecture updates to meet the requirements of upcoming 5G products that are expected to reach global markets in 2020. This work is carried out at the Linköping office, in collaboration with teams in Taiwan and the US.

In addition to processor architecture and hardware implementation, we also develop tools for generating and verifying different processor configurations, as well as a simulator that is used both for architecture prototyping and for simulating and debugging production firmware.

The Role
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Software Developer to join us.  You will have strong skills in C++ and a keen interest in processor architecture.

You will join an expert team of around five developers, with focus on developing our processor system simulation platform, as well as using this platform to benchmark new architecture features and signal processing algorithms.

Required Qualifications

• University degree in a relevant subject
• At least three years of professional experience (or equivalent) in software development

Essential Skills

• Strong skills in object oriented software development and comfortable in C++
• Basic understanding of processor architecture concepts

Desirable Experience

• DSP processor/embedded software development
• C/assembler coding for VLIW/SIMD processors
• Digital design for ASIC or FPGA using Verilog/VHDL
• Test driven design
• Signal processing/Telecommunication
• Agile development
