Volvo Group Connected Solutions is hiring exceptional software engineers & architects to Innovation Lab in Gothenburg!

Innovation Lab is a newly established function, within Volvo Group Connected Solutions, with the mission to pioneer new connected services and solution. We are building the teams as we speak and will during the first’s part of 2018 also establish a team in San Francisco to bridge the ecosystem of start-up and partners into Volvo Group.

At Innovation Lab we do things differently than traditional corporate functions; we work with agile methods in diverse and focused concept and venture teams together with customers, partners, start-ups and members from various part of the Volvo Group. We constantly strive to generate untold value for our customers and finding the next offering for Volvo Group by combining insights across industry sectors, digital trends and data from our connected fleets of vehicles and machines.

When joining you will meet passionate pioneers across a variety of disciplines, ranging from strategic business innovators, software engineers to service designers and concept leaders. You will be working with start-ups with speed in a global environment, uncovering new ideas and ventures supporting Volvo Group to reach it mission to drive prosperity through transport solutions.

What you will do
•Design, build and scale the technologies, enabling new connected service and solutions for all Volvo Group brands
•Build prototypes and experiment together with diverse teams in a fast paced environment
•Secure scalability of solution, enabling speed moving from idea to commercial solution
•Work in an test driven environment using design thinking, continuous delivery and SAFe framework

Examples of Platforms and Tools
•Web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 (pre-processors), JS frameworks e.g. ReactJS
•Java, Spring
•Web services, REST and JSON interfaces
•Native iOS and Android Development
•Unit and integration testing frameworks; and continuous integration tools and services such as Jenkins etc.
•Source code management systems e.g. Git and associated workflows
•Build automation tools and frameworks (Maven etc)
•Cloud services e.g. AWS, Azure Cloud Platform
•Container and change management tools e.g. Chef, Ansible, Terraform, Docker

Innovation Lab locations
Gothenburg: we have our dedicated office space at Lindholmen science park, close to many talents within the digital ecosystem and in direct contact to Volvo Group headquarters
US: we are establishing our hub on the west coast aiming to bridge the Silicon valley ecosystem, enabling us to work close with new partners and pioneering the transport solutions of the future

Qualifications
•University degree or similar education
•Minimum 5 years’ experience from similar positions
•Track record of examples of tools used within Connected solutions and Innovation Lab shown below
