Job Description
The Senior Java Developer at NYX participates in the design, development and maintenance of components and new functionality. He or she also defines internal and external APIs, and participates in system architecture for technically complex projects and achieving the best possible outcome.
As a Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for hands-on development, analysis, architectural design, mentoring other developers and working closely with customers.
All our development is on high volume, high-performance transactional systems - you will be responsible for ensuring their success through code development and performance tuning, as well as assisting with live production incidents.
Responsibilities:
Work as part of an agile self-organizing team to develop new features and functionality in the OGS platform
System architecture of the platform
Ensuring that components are functionally verified
Practice Test-driven development to produce robust and clean code to a high standard of quality
Design solutions that are modular, scalable, extendable and portable
Actively contribute to improving our ways of work
Qualifications:
Demonstrable experience working as a Java Developer
Experience of Agile, Lean, Scrum, Kanban, TDD, CI
Knowledge of writing SQL queries, preferably with PostgreSQL
Experience with working in a Unix/Linux environment
A solid understanding of HTTP, XML, JSON and web-based APIs
Ability to express yourself in English, both in writing and speech
Experience with transaction-intensive systems or casino systems is preferable
Knowledge of script languages like Bash and Python is a plus
Experience with tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Subversion, Git is a plus
