Big Data Developer

Right now, we are looking for a Big Data developer/engineer  to join our Dev Team in Stockholm! We believe you have a programming or maths background and have started to pickup an interest with building ML and data models.

We offer a workplace where the development teams are working in close collaboration with product managers, designers and quite recently also our new data unit. We share our knowledge and interests in cross-team meetings, internal conferences and lunch presentations. We love to learn and that’s why we have daily stand-ups, regular lab days and DevCorners all year round.

What's our stack?

We are currently storing data in different systems such as Google Analytics, Keen.io but are currently migrating to a centralised data platform. Our applications are also using Solr, Apache Spark, Redis, Postgres, Mysql, ElasticSearch, Mongodb. Business data are stored in Marketo and Salesforce. We are using plenty of services but welcomes way of simplifying our platform and stack.

What will you do?

• As our first hired Big Data Developer you will be joining our Data team and be part of getting our Big data initiative up and running.
• You will work very closely with Head of Data to understand, design and develop solutions that fits our data needs for both internal and external use.
• You will develop Machine learning(ML) models and data pipelines to support our Data team with knowledge and insights.
• Answering questions with the help of setting up NLP models for large scale text analysis and analysing user behavior by creating models(ML) for event prediction.
• You will become a valued teammate in a cross functional team of developers, designers and product leads
• You will continuously deliver value to thousands of users and millions of visitor

That is you!

• You have experience of working with AWS or other big data product stacks
• You have experience of working with data integrations and on creating machine learning(ML) models and have a few learnings on what to avoid and what’s important
• You are a doer that loves to get your hands dirty and getting things done
• You are used to programming languages and tools such as Ruby/Python, Scala, MapReduce, Hadoop, Apache Spark
• You are always looking into new technologies and learn beyond your current set of expertise
• You are fluent in English, both in writing and speech since it is our working language
• You have experience of database and data lake knowledge and are used to working with popular technology such as PostgreSQL, NoSQL, Amazon Redshift and Amazon S3
• Skills that would be a plus: Salesforce or other business systems
