Academic Work is on behalf of our client Epidemic Sound looking for an experienced developer who will focus on backend development and DevOps technologies.

Epidemic Sound offers customers worldwide a catalog of 30 000 high-quality tracks which figures in creative scenes like TV channels, radio, and the web. The company is on a journey of change and have gone from having a few major broadcasters to hundreds of thousands of international customers. In other words - it's a good time to jump on the train and continue the journey on developing the company. The development team, currently around 30 people, is now looking for an additional creative colleague. They value good collaboration, knowledge sharing, as well as quality and collective decision-making!

This recruitment process is conducted by Academic Work and the request from Epidemic Sound is that all questions regarding the position is handled by Academic Work.

Academic Work is responsible for the recruitment process but the candidate that proceed will be employed directly by Epidemic Sound.

ARBETSUPPGIFTER

Product development at Epidemic Sound is organized in several cross-functional teams fully owning a part of our product offering. As a software engineer you will be part of such a team, working together with designers and product owners to design, develop, test, scale and maintain a subset of product functionality. This means that all developers at Epidemic Sound must be product focused and open to working in all parts of the tech stack.

As someone with extensive experience of backend/devops scalability challenges, you will also be expected to help lead the way in solving these specific types of problems; both through supporting and mentoring colleagues in your team and through spreading best-practices across the wider tech organization.

In addition to developing product features, you will for example be expected to help with:
* Developing our build and deploy pipelines and tooling
* Maturing our approach to data storage & analysis, data pipelines, and related infrastructure
* Enhancing our performance and uptime monitoring

VI SÖKER DIG SOM
You have experience of working with large-scale high-performance systems. You have been through the scaling journey from running on a couple of instances to a distributed multi-region and fault-tolerant architecture. You have a devops mindset and understand how code, infrastructure, tooling and processes all influence system characteristics and product capabilities.

Experience of any of the following technologies used at Epidemic Sound is considered a plus:
* Python (ideally combined with Django)
* AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, ELB, ECS/Faregate, RDS etc)
* Elasticsearch
* Docker
* Kubernetes
* React, Redux, React Native
* Javascript / Typescript
* Kotlin

Most importantly you are a humble team player with high ambition; you independently bring your work forward, take initiative and are eager to share your ideas for improvement. The atmosphere in the office is easygoing and open; do not get surprised if the colleague next to you jam along when you are typing code.
