Student Worker - Software Development

Nasdaq Clearing is now looking for a Student Worker - Software Development to join the Nasdaq Stockholm office full time for 2-3 months this summer. Nasdaq Clearing is a multi-asset derivatives clearinghouse covering Commodities, Equity and Fixed Income. The major risks involved in the clearing business are counterparty risk, market risk, liquidity risk and operational risk. The Software Development Intern will be placed within the Risk Management department. Work tasks will primarily comprise further development of the internally developed C# application and the related SQL database used by the credit risk team on a daily basis to monitor clearinghouse member risks. The intern will work together with specialists both from the credit risk team as well as other teams within the Risk Management department, including Risk Modelling.

Position Responsibilities:

* Development of Credit Risk application (new functionality, improvement of existing functionality, GUI/UX modifications and enhancements)
* Contribute to maintenance and partial remodeling of credit risk SQL Server database
* Contribute to documentation of credit risk application and database

Education, Professional accomplishments, and Certifications

* Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline with a focus on software development
* Able to work full-time (40 hrs/week) for 8-12 weeks between June 2018 through August 2018

Basic Qualifications

* Proficient in one or more object-oriented programming languages (Java, C++, C# etc.)
* Experience working with databases (SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB etc.)
* A solid interest in financial markets
* Excellent language skills in written and spoken English.
* Analytical and self-motivated

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working with .NET Entity Framework and C#
* Experience working with SQL Server databases
