At Volumental, we’re passionate about creating a great shopping experience and helping people find the best products for them (both fit and style) - starting with shoes. To do that we 3D scan people’s feet and use AI to find or create shoes that fit you perfectly. This data also helps our customers, mainly world leading brands, to develop better products. We do this by utilizing our beautifully designed high tech software and hardware, at present unparalleled in the global retail industry.

We’re also in a strong growth phase. Since we started rolling out in 2016, our scanners are now in stores in 35 countries and help thousands of people every day find shoes that fit. So we’re a crucial part of making retail more efficient, personalized and sustainable.

What’s your part in this?

Our tech infrastructure is crucial as we operate thousands of scanners in 35 countries, helping many thousands of people every day find shoes (and these metrics are growing weekly). So we are currently looking for an experienced full stack developer to contribute drive and fresh insights as we scale up our web stack.

Your tasks at Volumental will include shaping the web application layer and infrastructure behind our solutions for 3D foot scanning, analytics and fit recommendation. You’ll bring your experiences and skills to an agile team with experts from other fields than yours. You will take an active role in evaluating and selecting tools and platforms, and work closely with tech specialists as well as the sales, product and business development teams. You’ll learn to be a successful pragmatist, knowing which corners to cut to deliver early vs. where to be thorough to maintain quality. And importantly you’ll also write clean, testable and maintainable code for both backend and frontend.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

are a collaborative and kind team member.

have low prestige, and are willing to jump in where you’re needed.
understand cloud infrastructure services such as Google Cloud or Amazon Web Services. ?
have at least 3 years of experience working with Javascript, Python and/or Go. It’s important that you’re interested in becoming productive in Go!
are interested in working with Python projects on the backend, built using frameworks such as Flask or Django.
like learning about the current frontend methodologies, frameworks and libraries.
appreciate that it takes a lot to run a live service 24/7, where any interruption or regression hurts.
know of concepts like "12 factor applications".
have a basic understanding of web markup, including HTML and CSS.
