Serstech is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to serve as technical product owner and lead technical strategist for our new enterprise web services platform. The platform will set new standards for chemical sensing and analysis services across a wide range of application areas.
Work description
In the short term your main focus will be to be a key contributor to our ongoing chemical sensing platform development project. In this capacity you will write code as well as write and review requirements and design documents. We are using a state of the art toolbox with components such as HTML5, JSON and REST. We feel it is a very dynamic and exciting environment in which to work. The development scope will be quite broad, mainly covering PaaS and SaaS levels. As for any cloud computing infrastructure interfaces are key so we think a major portion of your work initially will be centered on API’s to devices and integration to external systems.
In the mid- and longer term you are expected to take on increasing responsibility as technical product owner for the Serstech cloud platform. In this capacity you will perform technical platform management and ensure best practices are followed for design, development and verification. You are also expected to be very hands-on and heavily involved in development work. Furthermore, at Serstech we strive to keep the distance between development and market as short as possible. We feel it is paramount for us all to understand the end user requirements in order to make timely and correct decisions in our daily work. This mean you will work with customers as well as management, sales and other stakeholders to develop and communicate requirements, roadmaps and product vision.

You will work in a tight team of engineers with a broad range of competencies, including software, hardware and optics. This will enable the right person to grow as an engineer and see how your work will impact the product and the end user. Furthermore, you will work with interfacing cutting-edge spectrometer technologies to the cloud using state of the art tools. Who are you?

You have a Master of Science degree from Computer Science or similar and very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both written and verbal
In addition to this experience from some of the following areas is required:
•Minimum 3 years’ experience in building enterprise-grade Web Services and API.
•Excellent .NET/C#/C++ programming skills
•In-depth understanding of web service technologies – HTML5, CSS3, JSON, JavaScript, jQuery, SOAP, REST, XML, Python
•Proficiency in documenting technical designs and requirements
•Familiarity with Agile development practices
•Experience of RDBMS tools and applications such as MySQL, MS SQL Server, Joomla, Wordpress, phpBB are strong merits
