Software engineer - scada testing

We are looking to recruit an experienced software engineer with at least 10 years? experience in SCADA software testing. You will become a product expert and work closely with developers to develop our client?s testing processes is a critical part in the development of new product releases. You will also be working to analyze customer reported bugs and based on them suggest process improvements in order to gradually reduce the number of errors reported after release. Most of your work will be done in collaboration with the development team, but you will also be working with teams in other countries.
Responsibilities

?Development and testing of software and systems to an agreed standard
?Implementation of designs to an agreed coding standard and established practices
?Contribution to and meeting of, agreed individual and project deadlines
?Production of general technical documentation
?Liaison with other developers for advice, needs and requirements
?Work within an established code framework, standards and policies
?Execution of other duties appropriate to the skills and experience of the post holder which may be identified by the project manager.

Skills
?SCADA Software
?Expert user of TFS, QTP and Scripting languages
?Used to working with operating systems such as Linux and Windows
?Strong analytical skills
?Skills in testing and documentation
?Ability to efficiently manage parallel tasks
?Knowledge of test concepts as well as positive and negative test strategies
?Knowledgeable in exploratory testing
?Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes
?Fluency in English

Qualifications and Experience
?A graduate in Computer Science, Control Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering
?10 or more years? experience in software development and testing
?Experience in instrumentation and control engineering
?Exposure to working with offshore development teams
?Ability to work with people across geographical locations and multiple cultures

Person specification
The job holder must be an effective communicator with sound written and oral skills in English. A good aptitude for problem solving within a team environment is important in addition to pre-requisites of numeracy, literacy and listening skills.

The job holder should have established time management skills including an ability to be flexible and effectively present work to others. A strong delivery focused work ethic with ability to meet deadlines and still be a team player is required.
