System Engineer

MAX IV-laboratoriet har varit framgångsrikt i mer än 25 års och just nu byggs MAX IV, den nya synkrotronljusanläggningen, i Lund.
Mer än 1000 forskare från Sverige och resten av världen kommer årligen till MAX IV-laboratoriet för att använda röntgenstrålningen producerad i vår elektronaccelerator. De forskar inom bland annat materialvetenskap, strukturbiologi, kemi och nanoteknologi. 180 personer är idag anställda vid MAX IV-laboratoriet. MAX IV, Sveriges största och mest ambitiösa satsning på forskningsinfrastruktur, blir världens ljusstarkaste synkrotronljusanläggning. Den invigs 2016 och kommer att ersätta det existerande laboratoriet, som idag består av lagringsringarna MAX I, II och III. MAX IV-laboratoriet är en nationell forskningsanläggning och en del av Lunds universitet.

The MAX IV project is in the peak load phase where the first network and systems infrastructure is being tested and deployed at the new MAX IV site.

The existing lab infrastructure is changing and services are being put in place in preparation for the new MAX IV organisation which is growing to over 200 employees. These changes need to take into account the current activities of the staff which take into account the running of the present laboratory and their needs regarding the MAX IV project. Examples of new services are centralised user accounts, active directory, backup, remote access...).

We are looking for a skilled person for 6 months to manage and develop these services for MAX IV Laboratory.

Work tasks;

- work on the design and deployment of the MAX IV IT systems and services
- ensure and improve the reliable operation of these systems and services
- make sure that critical services remain in operation
- troubleshoot problems and errors reported by staff

Qualifications;

You have experience of working in an enterprise Multi-OS (Windows, Linux, Apple) environment in which you carry responsibility for support. You can demonstrate capability in the following skills; Windows Server, Active Directory, System Center (SCCM Endpoint Protection), packaging, remote access, Remote Installation Services (RIS), Powershell. A MCSE or equivalent knowledge is required. A good understanding of security is desirable. You need to know Linux and are able to script. You are service minded, and have good communication and collaboration skills.
