Backend Developer

We are building a globally distributed video streaming platform and all that it entails as far as infrastructure, architecture, operations, latency, reliability, uptime and so on. As developers we need to build software that will handle humongous™ load while still keeping low response times and correctness. We want our systems to be up for the challenges of the real world and we want you to join us in making it happen.

How we do it

Our systems and services are in a state of continuous development and improvement and we wish to keep things that way. If you have experience with distributed systems and service oriented architecture for scalable web services it would be a big plus. Other buzzwords are: micro architecture, scala, tdd, stateless, cassandra, events.

Education

You probably have a Bachelor of computer science or a Masters, or you can be a self taught enthusiastic programmer. We care a lot about who you are and what you are capable of.

Work experience(again, this is a wish list):

- You are skilled in developing backend systems.
- You are able, enthusiastic and take the initiative.
- You want to help build the solution, not just implement some specification.
- You probably hack Scala and functional programming in general and you love it.
- To cut to the chase. You identify as a competent computer engineer and you know your stuff. You don’t need to know all the ins and outs of git but you aren't afraid of using it.
- Magine works in agile ways but we still think scrum has a well earned bad rep. We’ve moved past it.
