Who are we? 

In the Volvo Cars Consumer Connectivity Services team (CCS), we build mobile services to make life easier, like effortless car sharing, deliveries directly to your car, and moving your car to where it needs to be. The team is located in Sweden, the US and China, and many of the people you will be working with have experience from global tech companies such as Google, Apple, Facebook and Amazon. This is a rapidly growing team, and we are looking for outstanding people who will be some of the earliest hires in their function, helping to establish it at Volvo Cars.  

What you’ll do 

You will play an important part in building up the in-house QA capability of our development team.?Our strategy is to automate as much testing as possible.?Your?focus will be to greatly enhance?the quality of our innovative mobile services. You will develop the QA practices?and strategies for?our new development teams in Gothenburg. In collaboration with the development teams you will set guidelines and?requirements?for test practices in the development process. You will control and manage difficulties that arise in different projects during testing related activities, and help drive?the QA work in our area. You will be an integral part of the development team and work closely with teams across the company, across the globe, across many functions, such as UX, product management, and business development, and with external companies, like in our delivery collaboration with Amazon.  

Who you are 

We are looking for QA engineers with experience of automated and manual testing of user-facing applications. You should have experience of testing mobile applications, ideally for both iOS and Android, and of exploratory testing. You need to understand, and have a desire to participate in, the whole application development life cycle, including agile development and continuous delivery / continuous integration. You’re more at home using CLIs versus GUIs when doing your work, and have a solid?understanding of some modern?programming and scripting languages, as well as strong Linux administration experience. You have at least a BS degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. You are well acquainted with testing methodologies. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential. You are passionate about you do and strive to make a difference.
