Application Engineer with Linux Experience

Nasdaq is now looking for highly skilled Application Engineer to join our fantastic Application Management team, working with many different products and systems, like Nasdaq Member Portal, Swift and MQ. You will be part of all activities related to the applications such as handling of incoming issues, incident solving, requirements and launching of new release. Your ability to perform multiple tasks combined with a great work ethic and working in a mission-critical 24x7 environment will ensure your success in this role.

Key responsibilities:

* Designing, planning and implementing changes to our existing systems and implementing new solutions
* Planning and executing non-functional and performance testing
* Acting as a specialist in operational issues, questions and requirements
* Taking part in performing recovery procedures, scheduling, backups, and working pro-actively to catch incidents before they happen.
* Managing projects and independently carrying out parts of large implementation projects

Skills and Requirements:

* Experience from working with System administration, Network, Application operations or other related area is essential
* Knowledge and understanding of Linux, Scripting (Perl), Windows, Networks and SQL.
* Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related discipline
* You have strong personal drive and initiative, and you enjoy working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment
* Good interpersonal skills and a strong communicative ability in English, both verbally and in written
* Docker and Cloud experience is meritorious
* MQ and Swift experience is meritorious
