A few words about us
Peltarion provides an operational AI platform for producing real-world AI applications at scale and at speed. Our goal is to make machine learning (ML) widely available for a variety of use cases, for example: rapid prototyping for data scientists, using our wizard to build an image classifier for a hobby app project, or developing a sentiment analysis system for a business use case. It is the first platform to provide fast, efficient and scalable production of commercially viable AI applications with minimal prior knowledge about machine learning.

About the role
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Peltarion, you will join a team of senior, mid-level and junior developers in a cross-functional team to build upon our scalable platform for AI. The Product team includes 30+ experienced colleagues working in design, UX, architecture, coding, test automation and product management. This role is focused on integrating deep learning frameworks (mainly TensorFlow), utilizing numerical computing libraries (NumPy, SciPy), and scaling via Kubernetes on different cloud providers.
Your task will be to understand and abstract customer problems to enhance the platform. With your knowledge and experience you will serve as the essential link between our platform and our tailored data science projects for clients. In this role, you will also act as a mentor for junior developers.

This role requires:
- A university degree in a technical discipline (computer science, mathematics/statistics, electrical engineering, etc.)
- A deep understanding of ML in tailored customer projects, from requirements for model building to deployment
- Familiarity with popular ML packages: TensorFlow, Keras and scikit-learn
- The ability to write idiomatic, clean and well-tested Python code
- An understanding of the challenges involved in taking deep learning models into production, and the use of Kubernetes/Docker and cloud providers like Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud
- The capacity to work with continuous integration and GitHub flow
- Experience with PyTorch, JavaScript, Linux, Java, SQL, and architecture design in general is desired
