Description of Group:
The Global Operations, Application Management Group is responsible for daily business operations support. The group supports system start up and shut down, change management and incident management, problem resolution, configuration management, application support, and application deployment.

This includes Technical Operations and Application Monitoring of several environments for both internal and external customers. The team is also responsible for creating and maintaining operational documentation and following procedures in accordance with company and industry guidelines.

Typical Job Functions:
The Systems Operations Analyst will work in a mission-critical 24x7 diverse environment with multiple vendor/customer relationships. He/she will be part of a team that secures NASDAQ's systems' reliability and service fulfillment to our internal and external customers, acting as liaison between end users and NASDAQ.

The Systems Operations Analyst's responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and identifying issues for expedient resolution.
-Troubleshooting in a high pressure environment collaborating with network, infrastructure and development teams.
- Effectively resolving or escalating issues in a timely fashion.
- Upgrading and patching critical environments.
- Effectively communicating relevant information to costumers, team and superiors in an informative and well-organized manner.
- Maintaining documentation for reporting and future enhancements.

Essential Qualifications:
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
- Education: Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related discipline OR equivalent work experience in Data Center, Trading, Computer, or Network Operations.
- General knowledge of network topologies, security concepts and a strong knowledge of data communications (TCP/IP, switches, routers, firewalls, VPN's, LAN, WAN, DHCP, DNS, Multicast).
- Thorough understanding of UNIX/Linux Operating Systems and Linux command line.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
