Core News Product (CNP) is Schibsted Media's common publishing product platform, residing in the Shared Products & Platforms organisation (SPP). CNP Web is building the common web platform that is the foundation for all of Schibsted's publications, for example Aftonbladet in Sweden and VG in Norway. It's an audacious and fun project with good velocity and high impact.
In CNP web you'll get to work with an engaged and highly skilled team of dedicated and caring engineers, and you're placed squarely in the epicentre of the collaboration culture we're building between our diverse product- and tech teams. The CNP web team is building a decoration API that powers the web and app front-ends, as well as the web front-end itself.
Who you are
We're looking for a full-time Senior Fullstack Developer who is passionate about architecture, API design and Node, as well as frontend, performance.
You should be proficient with modern JavaScript, React and state management, as well as Node.js, that we use for our mediation layer. Our project strives to be forward-leaning in terms of keeping up to date with modern libraries and techniques, and in our team we are not afraid to experiment with new ways of applying technology.
We are looking for someone who can bring ideas to the team and can drive the development of our platform, while establishing patterns for engineers outside our team to implement functionalities upon.
You care deeply about web performance, and enjoy creating tools and platforms that make it easy for other developers to create performant code. You also like catering to developer experience, ensuring that our build tools are fast and “just work”.
Ideally, you also enjoy teaching and evangelizing best practices to your colleagues, since our work is used by many other teams. Some of your time will eventually be spent setting up and leading workshops for these brand developers.

Product & Tech is responsible for product development in News Media. The unit consists of product managers, software engineers, UX experts, and user researchers. A big part of our work is developing joint technology platforms for Schibsted’s news brands. These include platforms for content production and distribution, digital subscriptions, and advertising. Most of our teams work distributed, with colleagues in Oslo, Stockholm, Krakow, Gdansk, Bergen, and Stavanger.
