As a DevOps Engineer with a focus on databases and operations you will become an important part of our work building the private cloud. ABOUT THE POSITION
Working as a DevOps Engineer within Hosting & Integrations open source database team, you will develop the delivery of databases in the private cloud. You and your team will meet the increasing need of automated solutions which are easy to consume. The area is a high priority within SEB and we plan to deliver our database services on the Kubernetes platform in the future. As a technician, you understand the benefits of InfrastructureAsCode and have a willingness to work in a structured way. Although the focus will be on automating as much as possible, the job also means helping with the daily delivery e.g. in the form of handling incidents linked to databases, which is why a basic understanding of how databases work is necessary. You will work close to other teams to build and adapt the database platform according to the ever-shifting environment in one of Sweden´s most modern banks. You can expect a varied workday which involves all parts of development, from requirements and security to maintenance and customer dialogue.

Hosting & Integration is made up of several technical-teams with competent colleagues improving SEBs databases. You will join the open source database team and work close with other platform- and database teams. The team is characterized by its good atmosphere, open mindedness, and its willingness to share knowledge. YOUR PROFILE
You will thrive if you enjoy working in a team and see the value of working agile, where knowledge sharing is a success factor. You are goal oriented, driven, and find pleasure in the opportunity to explore new and creative solutions.
We believe that you have experience from development positions or system or Linux administration where you have worked with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB. The most important part is that that you are driven by a will to develop and build services for databases. You are comfortable in a Linux environment and it is advantageous if you have experience writing automations in Ansible or similar tools as well as scripting in Python or other script languages. It is also meritorious with knowledge or interest of containers with an excitement of understanding how services can and should be automated in a self-service environment.
