Frontend Lead

The frontend team shapes the purchase journey of potential new Hedvig members as well as existing ones. The user experience is central for Hedvig which makes the team dear to the company. The team is relatively small yet very skilled. The team is working hard to build Scandinavia’s most loved insurance company. We work closely with product, design, back-end, as well as Mobile app developers to create the best experience for our customers. Currently and due to Hedvig’s expansion in terms of markets and products we are hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the team.

What about the role?

• As an Engineering Lead, you will never be far from solving problems and writing code, yet you will have the responsibility of leading and coaching our talented but small front-end team.

• You will have the responsibility of communicating with stakeholders by explaining solutions and technical trade-offs. This role aims to bring clarity to the organization over what we do and how we do it.

• You’ll make decisions and solve issues such as code scalability and exiting UX challenges as Hedvig is currently expanding its product offering and new markets.

• In addition to the support on daily tasks, you will ensure that your team is constantly developing their skills and capabilities.

What about you?

• You’ve most likely been working with front-end web development for some years, and you have some coaching or leadership experience. But more importantly, you have a strong interest and motivation to develop in this direction.

• A big part of the role includes hands-on coding, and you should be familiar with our tech stack. The site is powered by React, Emotion, and TypeScript, and on top of this, we also use GraphQL with Apollo, a little bit of Koa, and the headless CMS Storyblok.
