Senior Director - Applications Development

Responsibilities

The Senior Director - Applications Development:

• Responsible for overseeing the product development/engineering function in a department of the Tbricks by Itiviti product development/engineering of critical components, such as Core, Market Gateways, Quantitative&Apps, Visualisation
• Responsible for the software development process which includes the management of hardware, software, systems, telecommunications, or product design and engineering
• Responsibilities include overseeing the creation, development, and design of the Tbricks system critical components, engineering services, and include the research function
• Manages number of teams within the relevant department in different locations and time zones
• Drives the integration software development components and new projects which includes distributed teams all over the globe
• Works closely with customers, developers and other stakeholders to understand and define customer needs in these designs
• Features are aligned to a timetable and areas of responsibility
• Works closely with Product Strategy Department and defines the resources, time frames, controls the delivery according to the Road maps produced by Product Strategy

• Software Development Process: Scrum, Code-Review, Pair-programming, Test Driven Development, Domain Driven Design
• Tools: Intellij IDEA, Visual Studio, Eclipse, Slack, JIRA, Git, Gerrit, Gradle, Jenkins, Confluence, Memory and CPU profilers, Sonar, Google Suite, UNIX.
• Systems/frameworks/libraries: JDK, .NET Framework, OSGi, Reactive Extensions, RxJava

Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in software development management
• Experience in Fintech is considered a must
• Strong and impressive track-record of accountability and performance delivery, leading teams to meet or exceed objectives
• Proven ability to build and lead a high-performing, innovative team
• Ability to identify opportunities and challenges in the marketplace, with constant evaluation of technological advancements and innovation to mitigate impediments and drive success
• Strong knowledge of OOP and design principles. Functional programming is a must
• Can steer a legacy codebase towards a better, more usable shape
• Strong knowledge of C++, UNIX, Script languages
• Strong reasoning and algorithmic skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Good English
