Courier Group consists of several amazing teams responsible for logistics optimization, logistics growth, courier earnings, supply and demand forecasting and providing top notch courier onboarding and delivery experiences. Depending on your interests and experience we’d love to welcome you to one of the following teams:

Employment Team is a brand new team with a mission to provide effective tools for managing the practicalities of courier employment. In countries like Germany, Wolt couriers are in an employment relationship with Wolt, so being able to effectively manage things like absences and working hours has a big impact on the courier experience and efficiency of the delivery platform. This is a greenfield project, so you’ll be building a beautiful product from the ground up and integrating it with external systems, like HR and payroll. Kotlin and Scala will be the main backend programming languages of the team, while frontends are built in React/TypeScript. Wolt has a strong community around Kotlin/Scala/React, so there are good opportunities to collaborate and learn from others!

Core Team is a new team that is born to support the exponential growth of Wolt’s traffic, specifically in the Logistics platform. Our immediate goal is to promise and sustain a sensible scalability factor while keeping the platform stable and reliable. In this team, you will be working on group wide topics to break down our old architecture into smaller and more workable units while keeping the lights on! You’ll also be working on a new event-driven architecture for a high volume of events for dispatching orders. Due to the team's responsibilities, you will be working with some of our legacy Scala-based technologies to help modernize them, but you will also work on our new event-driven platform using technologies like Kafka, and Kafka streams.

📍This role can be based in one of our tech hubs in Helsinki or Stockholm, or you can work remotely anywhere in Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Estonia.

Qualifications

👉 You have solid experience designing, building, and integrating quality software (microservices) in modern Scala on a large scale within a complex domain. Knowledge of other JVM languages like Kotlin and Java is a huge plus.

👉 You have strong technical leadership skills.

👉 You have knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, observability (Data Dog or similar tools) and data storages, both SQL and noSQL databases.

👉 Your stakeholder management skills are excellent.

👉 You’re a dedicated person who is pragmatic with a positive attitude, who doesn't shy away from going outside of their comfort zone, and demonstrates curiosity and willingness to keep continuously learning.

👉 You’re comfortable working with real-world data and its different nuances.
