The Product Engineering Unit Engineering Environment & Services provides Cloud RAN production system services which enable resilient Cloud Native production pipeline services for all Cloud RAN Engineering units, including digital testing, self-service, and as-a-service provisioning, enabling DevOps and CICD.

About this opportunity

The Test Application Services & Ops unit within PEU Engineering Environment & Service is responsible for providing test automation framework solutions to Engineer unit Cloud Ran. We work with continuous improvements the framework to support “easy to use” and rapid test development to our developers.

MJE as test automation framework is used across the BNEW organization for automated testing and is a key component in both the future Digital Test Pipeline as well as in current RAN pipeline. We are working with powerful technology to enable test automation for Cloud RAN and MS-RBS.

What you will do

As System Developer/Arch, you will work together with a team of skilled and highly qualified system engineers developing the Java-based MJE test automation framework. The framework is an Ericsson inner source product on top of JUnit/TestNG and is used for testing of Radio and Router products. Currently we are implementing support for Cloud-based (Kubernetes) nodes and 5G radio as well as getting more involved in open-source initiatives. We are also using OpenSearch for processing data and exploring ML/AI technics for test case selection.

We work near our customers refining requirements, identifying improvements, giving demos and training sessions. You will experience a truly collaborative and supportive environment, both in terms of tools and colleagues.

You will bring

• BSc, MSc or equivalent in a technical field such as Computer Science, Data Communication, Telecom or Electrical Engineering,
• Good or very good programming/scripting skills (Java is preferred; Grovy, Bash, C/C++, Python is a merit)
• Experience of RAN technologies/architecture and test setups is a merit
• Experience of containerization and virtualization technologies is a merit
• Fluent in English both speaking and writing
