As our quest to democratize financial services continues at blazing speed, we are on the lookout for a Security Engineer with a keen interest in this domain to join our Cyber Security Team.

In short, the Team's mission consists in creating and maintaining the safest operating environment for Zettle's Users and Developers. In this role, you will be a Subject Matter Expert on all things related to Security and have the opportunity to support different Business Units across the company.

At Zettle, Security Engineers work on a broad set of efforts focusing on scaling and automating security infrastructure as well as processes. We solve user and corporate security concerns, investigate security incidents, perform security gap analysis, build and integrate systems, conduct applied research, and implement novel technologies and architecture to deal with enterprise security across a diversity of computing platforms such as Mobile and Cloud.

As a Security Engineer, you help protect network boundaries, support the secure configuration and use of GCP/AWS infrastructure and services, keep computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and provide security services to protect highly sensitive data.

In our Team, we work hands-on with network and computer services to actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In addition, we also collaborate with Software Engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.

As a Security Engineer, you will:

  • Respond to and investigate Security incidents.
  • Provide Security expertise and guidance to a wide range of Zettle's Engineering and Business teams.
  • Conduct technical evaluations to identify coverage gaps in existing information Security toolsets.
  • Support installations of Security tools with Key Performance Indicators (KPI) measuring performance.
  • Contribute in effectively managing and developing Security monitoring, sensor enrichment, and tuning solutions.
  • Conduct security reviews of core corporate and production infrastructure.
  • Drive enterprise focused Security improvements to Zettle by PayPal products and services.
  • Be part of the on-call roaster that is responsible for taking action during security incidents 24/7.

About You:

  • Education or experience in the Software Security field.
  • Ability to code in one or more programming languages.
  • Knowledge of security in Cloud environments (GCP or/and AWS).
  • Knowledge in two or more of the following:
  • Network protocol, secure network design and network security tools (WAF).
  • Operating system internals and hardening (e.g. Windows, Linux, OS X, iOS, Android).
  • Kubernetes, container Security and serverless design.
  • Web application and browser security.
  • Vulnerability scanning and remediation.
  • Security assessments and penetration testing.
  • Applied cryptography and security protocols.
  • Security monitoring and intrusion detection, Incident response and forensics.
  • Development of Security tools, automation or frameworks.

Earn bonus points with:

  • Academic background in Computer Science or a related tech field.
  • Relevant Security Certifications.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code and specifically Terraform.
