Description

The client is now looking for a Software development leader / Tech lead with excellent skills in software craftsmanship, acting as a role model for the engineers in the cross-functional team. Help building and leading a great engineering team to deliver incremental value to their world-class products, while providing technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers in the team.

The tech lead influences and drives software design discussions, with quality, security, technical debt and cost-effectiveness in mind, while also staying involved in day-to-day software development. They ensure that best practices are implemented and that technical solutions align with the technical vision and principles.

The tech lead takes part in and drives initiatives cross teams and the wider organization, building the engineering culture, promoting knowledge sharing and moving their technical capabilities forward.

The purpose of this role is to be a role model software engineer and coach. The role drives the technical agenda in a DevOps team and makes sure that shared technical principles are implemented, and high quality is delivered. Further, the role engages in improving the shared technical platforms and capabilities while bringing a holistic perspective to the table.

Key Responsibilities:

- Understand needs from business and be able to translate those needs into working software.
- Continuously develop relationships between product, engineering, design and key stakeholders across teams.
- Drive excellent software craftsmanship and a continuous delivery mindset on a daily basis.
- Work across the team's entire stack, developing using modern tools, languages and frameworks.
- Architect, design, develop, deploy and operate services and systems that serve millions of users.
- Organize and participate in pair- and mob-programming.
- Review code and technical solution quality as well as promote a collaborative team culture.
- Ensure that best practices are implemented and that technical solutions align with the enterprise architecture principles, security practices, tech vision and other guiding agreements.
- Highlight technical priorities in relation to other value creation while driving the technical agenda both in and outside the team.
- Identifies technical debt and improvements, both within the team and outside.
- Has a broader technical understanding of the technical landscape outside of the team.
- Actively participates in and drive forums and initiatives together with the tech organization to share knowledge, collaborate and drive the joint technical agenda.
- Continuously identify limitations in the team’s development processes, suggest improvements and implement them.
- Participate in CV screening and interviewing of candidates for the team.
- Jointly responsible (together with the DPO) for coaching and ongoing feedback to support team members’ personal development.
- Bring a holistic technical perspective to the technical dialogues in the team.
- Proactively forecast potential risks, such as security and operational risks, and take action to mitigate them.
- Ensure operational excellence of the team's products.

Mandatory competence and experience:

- Proven experience as a technical leader for a team.
- Extensive history of working hands-on as a software engineer in an agile environment.
- Experience coaching and supporting junior colleagues.
- Understand quality and long-term impact of complex technical decisions.
- Navigating ambiguity and exercising good judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Education and experience in software engineering; technologies and frameworks like (but not limited to) Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript/Typescript, Node.js, React, and Kubernetes.
- Deep understanding of agile development practices.
- Stakeholder management and people skills.
- Strong communication skills and passion for collaboration, establishing great relationships across competences.
- Experience building large scale distributed systems.
- Tech Lead collaborates with and coach other engineers in their DevOps team.
- Tech Lead facilitates workshops and technical discussions, research solutions and present them to stakeholders and other engineers.
- Tech Lead participates in meetings and workshops to drive the joint technical agenda forward.
- Tech Lead provides their competence to a variety of stakeholders in SAS to ensure goals are reached and technical solutions are appropriate and high quality.
- Tech Lead work in agile DevOps teams, together with Product Owners, Designers, Business Analysts, Developers, Testers, etc.
- 5+ years of professional experience in software development including actual day-to-day coding.
- Experience working in Salesforce
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
