What you’ll do at Elekta

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Neuro engineering team, you will report to a Software Manager in TPS engineering. This is a group of highly skilled software engineers, product owners, software architects, and system engineers divided into two agile teams working together with software verification engineers. The group is responsible for developing new innovative features and maintenance for the desktop application Leksell GammaPlan® that is used by the clinician to plan radiosurgery treatments together with the Leksell Gamma Knife®.

You will be a part of the whole software development process including requirements engineering, architectural and detailed design, implementation, and unit testing. The team together perform a wide variety of tasks, everything from e.g., Linux OS configuration, GUI features, and driving development and implementation of advanced algorithms. Due to the range of tasks, the role may be adapted to your experience and expertise to some extent, with a common ground of C++ knowledge.

The right stuff

  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science, medical engineering, engineering physics, medical physics, mathematics, or equivalent experience
  • Several years of experience in C++ programming
  • Experience with Linux
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Nice to have (any of the following)

  • Algorithm development experience (e.g. visualization and computational geometry, computer graphics algorithms, numerical algorithms and efficient data structures)
  • Experience with scripting in Python, bash or Matlab
  • Experience in tools such as GCC, Meson and Git.
  • Leadership experience or interest
  • Regulated industry experience
