Senior Fullstack Engineer

We are looking for a senior Fullstack Engineer to help us take our soundtracking innovation platform and the machine learning foundation that powers it to the next level! The position is full-time and based in Stockholm. We enjoy collaborating face to face, and we spend at least 50% of our time in the office, within a flexible setup.

How you will make an impact

We are on a mission to revolutionize the soundtracking experience for our users by providing them a creative, interactive and relevant product that fulfills their needs. In order to do this, we want an experienced engineer with a strong focus on fullstack software development and building high quality products to join one of our teams. This team consists of a mix of software developers and machine learning engineers and focuses on the exciting space of using machine learning abilities to enhance the end user experience. In this team you will be part of shaping the future of Epidemic Sound’s product.

The team aims to inspire, guide and connect storytellers with the right material at the right time. To do this, we need a good understanding of music and how it can be further adapted to our users’ needs. We have already built a number of ML powered applications that are highly appreciated by users, with examples including intelligent search features such as semantic, and audio-similarity-based search, recommender systems, tagging and previews of music. Together with your peers and other teams you will experiment with and work on improving and reimagining core flows such as searching for music or sound effects, exploring new sounds and ensuring the sound magically fits the user’s content.

What you’ll do

- Directly improve the end-user experience with ML-powered solutions: from idea to production, you and your team will own projects and maintain the systems once they live in production

- Build prototypes, conduct experiments, and operationalize solutions at scale

- Build, deploy, and maintain key functionality together with your team

- Improve technical processes, documentation, and tooling

- Enjoy working in a friendly and inclusive environment

- Coach and mentor team members and colleagues from other teams, fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture

- Embrace agile development processes, including pair and mob programming, and share knowledge inside and outside of the team

What you’ll bring

- Solid experience as a developer across the stack, using for example React/Redux, TypeScript, Python or Kotlin

- Experience with creating user focused products and writing high quality frontend code

- Real life experience with ElasticSearch, Docker, GCP/AWS, K8s or similar tools

- Leadership experience, and ability to guide and mentor colleagues as well as drive projects to completion

- Thorough knowledge in software architecture, API design and development within a microservices architecture

- Extensive understanding of how to build scalable, reliable and easy-to-maintain software and ability to make architectural decisions

- Great communication skills and drive to collaborate closely with colleagues

- A flexible mindset as a curious learner and big-picture tech thinker!
